Farewell Letter From the Prima Games Editor-in-Chief, What’s Next?

I have been busy helping to build this brand back up into something we can be proud of, but it's time to move on. So what does that mean for myself and Prima?
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

When I first joined the Prima Games team last year as Editor-in-Chief, I was so excited to be a part of a brand that shaped my life growing up as a gamer. My collection of physical guides is almost embarrassing with how many I have, but it was such an important part of my childhood that I couldn’t wait to be a part of it! Now I am embarking on a new journey, a new dream, and I wanted to share a little about that and what’s next for Prima and what this time has meant for me personally.

We’ve had a few names come and go through the years, but each team member I had the pleasure of working with brought a unique voice to Prima Games. We had sarcastic, witty writers, we’ve had serious deep dives, and we’ve had retro lovers that all brought that passion to the Prima Games name. Our newest member, Lucas White, joined us recently and being able to share with him the Prima vision has been incredible.

Lucas has brought a fun-ness to the Prima name that very much echoed my own. For those that have read my pieces, you know I love to get silly and throw in jokes when covering news, reviews, and everything in between. Lucas is very much the same, which has made working with him an absolute blast. His passion for RPGs and everything gaming is inspiring and I know that Prima is in good hands with him from this day going forward.

I began my journey in Games Media 17 years ago and have worked at numerous major outlets, including CBS – which was a huge milestone for me. This industry is my entire world, I don’t know where I would be without it, which makes me so incredibly excited to share what’s next. While I can’t say quite yet, I am going to be joining one of the largest gaming publications in the world with a team just as passionate as the team here, and I can’t wait to lend my personality and insight to their collective amazingness.

For anyone curious as to where I am going next, or who like to follow my work, I will be able to finally talk about it on Monday morning, September 14th, over on my personal Twitter account. You can find me right here, if you’re interested! Fair warning, I talk a lot about Mass Effect and Dragon Age.

Update: I can now share! I am joining the Game Informer team!!

Prima Games isn’t going anywhere and I’m excited to have been a vital part of its immense growth the past year. I’m thrilled to join other fans in watching it continue to evolve, and I can’t wait to see what Lucas and the others have to offer you as a community.

While I am leaving, Prima Games will always have a special place in my heart and I want to thank everyone who is reading this from the bottom of my heart for letting me share my work with you all, share our vision with you all. You are amazing. Please remember to be kind, be passionate, and never stop diving into those adventures you love so much.

Keep being amazing, Prima family!
