Call of Duty: Warzone | What’s New with Season 4 Reloaded

Season 4 Reloaded went live on July 14 and it includes something for everyone. Except me because I’m in the gulag again.

Blueprint Blitz is a limited time event with Contraband Contracts, which automatically start after players complete two standard Contracts. These special Contracts award players with a permanent Weapon Blueprint reward if they can successfully snag them from the DZ.

They also include tons of cash and the opportunity to earn Weapon Blueprints from previous seasons, which will appear exclusively during the special contract runs. This event only applies to the core BR and Plunder modes.

Payload is Warzone’s first objective-based game mode and it’s a Call of Duty twist on a familiar multiplayer mode. Two teams of twenty players will escort vehicles across checkpoints while racing against time and trying to stall the other team’s vehicles.

The mode also includes custom loadouts, cash, killstreaks, and items scattered throughout the area so matches should be exciting and filled with action each and every time.

NEW OPERATOR — Weaver: NATO (In-Season)

  • Obtainable in Warzone as part of the Tracer Pack: Weaver Operator Bundle, available in the Store later in Season Four Reloaded.
  • Includes the “Kremlin’s Eye” Operator Skin based on his original Black Ops incarnation, and three Legendary Weapon blueprints and a new finishing move.

For map changes, Raven Software has shared that Red Doors “will appear [[REDACTED]] and take you to [[REDACTED]].”

General Changes include new Calling Cards and Emblems. The Killchain Perk now increases the chance to obtain all Warzone Killstreaks from loot scattered across the map.

There were a lot of gameplay changes and adjustments, including changes to loot found across Verdansk. New gulag loadouts were added so there’s some new variety for anyone that ends up doing time.

Raven Software’s update notes also say the Sentry Gun Killstreak can be found in Red Door Control Rooms, which sounds like it’s probably related to the [[REDACTED]] thing.

The Specialist Token was adjusted as well and is now slightly more common in core BR

Additional gameplay changes include:

  • Combat Bow Killstreak damage increase which will down enemies with direct hits.
  • Dropped equipment will now be behind players when looting Loadout Drops.
  • Vertical camera movement is possible again while sliding down slopes.
  • Dirt Bikes can perform wheelies and sharper turns by leaning forward and back at the right moments.
  • Squads can use Ascenders at the same time, which means you and the bois can get the jump on unsuspecting players with less delay.

Two new Warzone-specific perks are also coming soon but were not named in the patch notes.

An update for High Alert also allows players to hear Dead Silent footsteps.

Nearly forty bugs were patched as well, which are all listed below:

  • Issue where PS5 120hz mode couldn’t be activated while HDR was enabled.
  • Issue where some Xbox One S players couldn’t join Verdansk Playlists.
  • Issues related to Dev Error 5573.

  • issue where the Ice Drake’s Barrel was obstructing player sight when ADSing with an Axial Arms 3x Optic.
  • Issue that allowed players to briefly use weapons after going down if the gas mask animation was still active.
  • Issue with bounty targets continuing to track after death.
  • Issue allowing players to access an out-of-play area in the Downtown Tower.
  • Issue where players could still fire weapons after being downed with a rocket launcher.
  • issue with the Tactical Rifle Charlie (BOCW) Maximum Reserve Ammo displaying incorrectly.
  • Issue where the hipfire reticle on the Light Machine Gun Alpha (BOCW) wouldn’t appear if the Visiontech 2x optic was also equipped.
  • Issue preventing Players selecting the ‘Buy Battle Pass’ button after pressing an arrow key.

  • Issues with misaligned Weapon Dynamic Icons on the in-game UI.
  • Issue with dirt bike icon’s size on the Tac Map.

  • Issue causing incorrect animations while performing a crouched melee attack.
  • Issue with the Infil icon having the incorrect vehicle type.
  • Issue causing the Bullfrog (BOCW) model to appear misaligned while saved in the Primary Weapon slot.
  • Issue where players would be unable to exit the dirt bike if it got stuck.
  • Issue where players in the passenger seat couldn’t melee other players.

  • Issue where the dirt bike could be set up to block doors from opening.
  • Issue where the helicopter blades would not kill players riding a dirt bike.
  • Issue where the dirt bike could get stuck if its underside touched surfaces.
  • Issue where the kill feed icon for the dirt bike was the ATV.
  • Issue where the dirt bike minimap icon was too large
  • Issue in Plunder where player vision was partially blocked with bags of money. (I want that problem in real life though.)

Adjustments were also made to the UI and user interface in an effort to make the player experience and joining up with friends easier. Recent Squad and Recent Lobby tabs were added to the Social Menu.

This will make joining up with new players easier and also make reporting toxic players a better experience.

Accessibility is getting better as well with a focus on improving Text Chat Behavior for anyone suffering from the following disabilities: Hard of Hearing, Blind/Low-Vision, and Cognitive Overload.

Incoming text messages can be turned off entirely or displayed on screen for 3 to 60 seconds. These settings are in the Accessibility Options Menu under Text Chat Behavior under the Visuals tab. There are several other options as well, including sounds and audio cues.
