Practice Swinging Around the City

The key to movement in this game is almost entirely tied to the Web-Swing ability. It’s different from the first game, requiring objects to stick Spidey’s web to. For consoles, it’s either the L2 and R2 buttons (PlayStation), or the right and left triggers (Xbox). This new mechanic will allow an advanced level of movement, but can take a bit of getting used to. We suggest practicing your Web-Swing in open world Manhattan before diving into the game’s missions.

Use Situational Awareness

One of the keys to success in this game involves doing what you’re told. Quite often, the game will put a hint on the screen, telling you exactly what you need to do at that exact moment. These tips range from telling you to dodge an attack to allowing you to mount an offense against your enemy. This can be especially helpful in boss fights where it’s not always immediately clear what you need to do to win. The more responsive you are to the game’s suggestions, the easier time you’ll have.

Don’t Spend Much Time Conversing

This may not seem like a tip, but trust us, it will save you a lot of time. The game frequently gives you its version of interactive conversations. The only problem is, none of your choices will impact the game. If you’re presented with three questions to ask in a cut scene, don’t spend a second of your time worrying about the consequences; there are none. In fact, there’s a button to finish the chat, which we opted for almost every time. This will shave minutes off every single mission in the game.

Become the Sneaky Spider

While most of the combat involves button mashing, things may get intense if you become outnumbered. The game allows for a great deal of Stealth Takedowns, which we advise opting for every time. When you take an enemy out with stealth, that’s one less bad guy you have to worry about when things get crazy. Take out as many enemies as you can while remaining undetected. Not only is it fun and effective, it can net you some extra points.

Get a Haircut… and a New Suit

If you look on your map, Spider-Man will have an objective that will take him back to Aunt May’s house. Once there, you can enter Peter Parker’s bedroom, allowing you to browse through several suits, each one with a unique perk. While it’s sometimes difficult to predict which suits you’ll need going into a mission, at the very least, you can find one that fits your play style. Plus, it’s always nice to have a little variety in life.
