Top 5 Creepiest Guns from Destiny 2 – The Recluse

This one was honestly an easy pick. Ever read the tagline for this gun? “My bite will turn your sweet flesh to vile rot” is a pretty terrifying brag. No one wants to be rotted from the inside out, and we know that this SMG packs a pretty painful punch already and should probably be nerfed. It’s also a real pain in the ass to get, which makes the act of obtaining than wielding this weapon almost sadomasochistic in nature. You’re welcome.

Top 5 Creepiest Guns from Destiny 2 – Outbreak Perfected

A common horror trope is someone being devoured alive by a swarm. Rats, insects, zombies. You name it, it’s been thrown out there as a way to strike the fear into anyone who fancies themselves too big for their boots. Outbreak Perfected is lethal because getting precision kills with it create literal nanite swarms that will overwhelm your chosen target and eat away at them. Imagine those little buggers crawling into every little nook and cranny. We just shivered.

Top 5 Creepiest Guns from Destiny 2 – Wendigo GL3

Anyone remember Until Dawn? All that cannibalism and the screaming and the terror? Yeah, wendigos. Anyone remember the Hannibal TV show? Yeah, wendigos. The Wendigo GL3 evokes those horrifying creatures just by virtue of its very name, and its tagline of “turn your hunger outward, never inward” doesn’t help either. Its grenades blind your targets too, which is an effective tactic for a predator trying to immobilize its prey.

Top 5 Creepiest Guns from Destiny 2 – Horror Story

This is another one which we’ve picked by virtue of its name. It’s literally called the Horror Story. It was an exclusive weapon back in 2018 for the Festival of the Lost, which was basically the Halloween event of the day. We can’t possibly leave off a gun from the spooky season off the list! Like any good scary movie, the Horror Story appreciates that things aren’t always horrifying from the get-go: they can take some time to ramp up and really deliver the thrills.

Top 5 Creepiest Guns from Destiny 2 – Whisper of the Worm

Whisper of the Worm just sounds sinister. When you think about the lore behind the gun, you’ll note that it drones on a lot about the universe being dominated by the Hive, and it’s got some pretty creepy overtones about death and meatspace and how it’s a way to feed the subjective will. Yeah, it’s a whole thing. It also looks really messed up, like some sort of xenomorph artifact lost to time but wearing the skin of a heavy sniper rifle.

There you have it, our list of the top 5 creepiest guns from Destiny 2. If you needed something to keep you up while you’re trying to find all the Jade Rabbits on the moon, well, hopefully this is it! If you want more Halloween content, check out our list of the top 10 spookiest Pokemon.
