The universe of Disney Infinity 2.0 expands with the debut of the Marvel franchise. Both heroes and villains are playable in the game, depending what figurines you pick up to use with the included portal.
There are several to choose from—along with secondary Disney characters like Merida and Maleficent that have their own stories to tell—but to help you get started, we're counting down the 10 best characters in the game.
10. Iron Fist
One of Spider-Man's best allies in his separate play set, Iron Fist utilizes several powers while defending New York City. He delivers special Chi-powered attacks, like the running State strike and Kick; he can burst into flame with his Block Breaker Combo; and he can summon incredible strength through his charging Shou-Lou the Undying. He's perfect for pushing back the web head's enemies.
9. Black Widow
Even though she sounds different from Scarlett Johannsen’s character in the movies, make no mistake—Black Widow is lethal. Her Widow's Sting can easily incapacitate even the largest foe; the Double Trouble pistols are perfect when it comes to firepower; the Widow's Veil provides a defensive technique with temporary invisibility; and she matches Iron Man any day with her Jumping Spider ground pound. On top of that, get her on a motorcycle and she'll tear through the city with ease.
By the hammer of…well, you know. Thor brings Asgardian justice to any level of the game, using his mighty hammer Mjolnir for an upward charging Heavy Hammer attack; firing a direct Lightning Charge or a larger-range Lightning Strike with a quick call to the sky; and taking flight with a few swings, enabling fast movement from mission to mission. It's hammer time!
You know the drill—he does whatever a spider can. With his web-slinging ability, Spidey not only knows how to get around the city in a hurry, he also unleashes projectiles and grabbing attacks on his enemies—even airborne opponents. He's also quick, making him quite useful when it comes to dodging certain foes that may try to get the jump on him.
He is Groot! This member of the Guardians of the Galaxy is ideal for close range attacks, such as his Bark and Bite uppercut, his downward-digging Root For Groot strikes (which cause limbs to grow out of the ground and attack enemies), his combo that involves swinging large flaming fists (while saying, of course, "I am Groot!”) and his ability to extend his limbs with a special Branching Out technique. He may not have much in the way of projectiles, but that's what number five is for.
5. Rocket Raccoon
The other Guardian of the Galaxy to make the list (Star Lord barely missed the top 10) is a wise-cracking animal with double pistols and a whole lot of potential. Along with firing both short-range and long-range gunfire with his Double Whammy and Rock It powers, he can also drop grenades with his Go Boom technique and shoot an explosive round into the ground with the Hadron Gun. He's small, sure, but packs a wallop.

No, this isn't a typo—we ranked Venom higher than Spider-Man. Not only does he have the same web-slinging abilities as his arch-enemy, but he can also use his symbiote limbs to smack foes around, either with a charged-up Storm attack or an Uppercut. Throw in a well-named Creepy Combo (where limbs come crawling out of the ground) and an enemy-grabbing Symbiote Line attack, and you have a well-rounded character—even if he is a villain.
3. Captain America
The First Avenger is also one of the best, a figurine that easily justifies a purchase. Along with his ability to throw his shield as a projectile, good old Captain can charge enemies with his Flying the Colors combo while also performing a special Super Soldier Jump that lets him vault from rooftop to rooftop without breaking a sweat. We salute you, soldier.
2. Iron Man
Where does Tony Stark get those wonderful toys? Well, that's easy—he makes them! In Disney Infinity 2.0, Iron Man packs a punch, not only flying around the city, but also laying out enemies with a devastating Repulsor Blossom Attack, his chest-powered Unibeam and a missile barrage that can destroy a group in seconds. His super strength is also noteworthy, especially his ground slam.
"Hulk smash!" We just had to save the big green guy for the top spot, mainly because he's unbeatable. He can get around in a hurry with his Rampaging Rush, climb buildings with the Crushing Climb and decimate everything with his Sonic Clap and Raging Roar techniques. For kicks, try out his Gamma Jump, where he can launch into the air and then come back down to Earth with a crushing blow.
