Quantum Break Walkthrough and Guide

Learn how to use your time abilities as you traverse this branching story world!
This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

This evolving article offers a walkthrough and guide of Quantum Break for the Xbox One and Windows 10. Quantum Break released on April 5, 2016 from Remedy Entertainment, the same development studio that brought you Alan Wake. Quantum Break is a similar title, but the main character has abilities linked to time in an attempt to elevate the gameplay beyond that of a more tradition third-person shooter.

Recommended Videos

The choices you make during certain parts of Quantum Break change the outcome of the game and the included live-action show. Integrated into the game at 20 minute live-action videos created almost like a TV show that change based on your choices. During our walkthrough we point out the choices made, but keep in mind your choices may be different than ours, meaning that the events following those choices may also be different.

Quantum Break Tips

  • If you don’t take damage for a short time your health automatically replenishes. When the screen turns red it means your health is low. Stay behind cover until your health replenishes to avoid an untimely death.
  • You can only hold one of each class of gun. That means one shotgun, one rifle, one handgun, etc. Only switch weapons if you find something more powerful within a gun class, or you’re low on ammo and need another weapon with more ammunition to spare.
  • Your time abilities are limited and have a cooldown period. Save the more deadly abilities for the harder enemies so that you can take them down quickly and move on to the easier enemies.
  • Fight near ammunition supply backpacks so you can quickly and easily replenish your ammunition in the middle of a battle.
  • After each battle, search around to find ammunition and new weapons so you’re ready to go for the next battle.
  • When you stop time, think of it as a way to inflict massive damage in a short period. Lay into the frozen enemy and all of the bullets will impact the target once time starts moving again.
  • Use Time Dodge to advance on enemies and as an escape tool. If you’re caught in a sticky situation, Time Dodge away to find cover and replenish your health.
  • During an environmental puzzle, if you have trouble figuring out where to go next look for a yellow item (usually a yellow tarp). This almost always indicates where you should go next.
  • If you have difficulty completing an environmental puzzle, chances are you should be using a time ability to make it easier.
