Just Cause 3 is a game developed by Avalanche Studios and published by Square Enix. The title released on December 1, 2015 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The story of the game is set several years after the events of the previous game in the series. You take control of Rico Rodriguez as he leaves The Agency and returns to his homeland of Medici.

Before you take on the various story and liberation missions in Just Cause 3, we have compiled a few helpful tips that should make your time with the game a little more pleasant.

Tips for Just Cause 3

  • Take cover if your screen turns red and Rico will slowly regain health.
  • Use the grapple and parachute in conjunction with the reel in technique to quickly traverse large areas.
  • Raid weapons storage units to find ammo and new weaponry.
  • Use the tether for everything. It can be extremely useful to remove an enemy, bring down a building, or just to have fun with.
  • The bull’s head icon on the map is the location of the next story mission. Grey indicates you can’t start the mission yet, while yellow means the mission is ready to go.
  • You may need to liberate certain areas before you can begin the next story mission.
  • When you need to travel to a new destination you can generally choose to drive, fly or grapple to the location.

Welcome Home – Find the Rocket Launcher, Save Mario
Find Mario and head back to the rebel base to take down the militia!

Time for an Upgrade – Find the Wingsuit, Destroy the Convoy
Pick up the wingsuit and destroy the convoy and bridge.

Mario’s Rebel Drops – Unlock the Garage and Rebel Drop
Locate a unique ride, then learn how to save vehicles in your garage!

A Terrible Reaction – Take the Gunship and Escort Mario to Safety
Take out the militia in the city, then commandeer the gunship and escort Mario to safety.

Friends Like These – Unlock Fast Travel and Head to Vigilator Nord
Unlock the Fast Travel ability as you make your way to Vigilator Nord.

Conflicting Interests – Locate the Bavarium Scanner
Infiltrate Vigilator Nord and locate the scanner, then head to Cima Leon.

The Secret of Vis Electra – Locate and Destroy the Power Node
Destroy the power node in Vis Electra to put an end to FOW.

Turncoat – Find Dr. Zeno Antithikara
Head to Lavanda and chase down Dr. Zeno Antithikara to complete this mission!

Missile Cowboy – Help the Rebels, Reach the Missile
Help the Rebel forces in Cima Leon, then grapple to the missile to complete the mission.

Of Cows and Wine – Save All the Wine Barrels
Make sure you don’t drop any wine barrels as you complete this mission.

Connect the Dots – Destroy Choppers and SAM Sites
Take down the enemy ships, then meet up with Annika and Teo!

An Act of Piracy – Take the Inperator Bavarium Tank
Drop onto the tank when the shield is down and use it to clear the enemy forces.

Three’s Company – Shoot the Gate Controls, Escort Annika and Teo
Keep Annika and Teo safe as you take down an army of enemies and a few choppers!

A Long and Dangerous Road – Set Off the EMP
Take control of enemy gunships as you protect your convoy and set off an EMP.

Abandon Ship – Deploy and Defend the EMP
Take down wave after wave of enemies as you use the EMP to make your life a little easier.

Electromagnetic Pulse – Destroy the FOW and Command Node
Locate and destroy the enemy FOW, then proceed to the command node.

Tangled up in Blue – Help the Aircraft, Blow the Militia Base
Engage a slew of enemies as you assist the rebels in destroying another militia base.

Rico and the Rose – Protect President Manuela
Don’t let the President’s plane get destroyed, then grapple over and land the plane yourself.

Derailed Extraction – Derail the Train Engine
Meet with the President, then head to the train and derail your competition.

The Great Escape – Enter the Prison, Find the Generator
Traverse each level of the prison as you search for the generator and free the prisoners.

Bavarium on a Plane – Get a Jet, Defend the Cargo Plane
Break into the airport and commandeer a jet to defend the cargo plane!

The Watcher on the Wall – Protect the Rebel Cargo, Destroy the Chopper
Use the heavy anti-aircraft gun to take out the enemies, then plant explosives to finish off the chopper.

Bavarium Blackout – Find the Base and Destroy the Command Node
Follow the pipes to find another base and take out the command node!

The Shatterer of Worlds – Destroy Di Ravello’s Aircraft
Clear the battlefield, then take a jet and finish off Di Ravello’s aircraft!

Son of Medici – Destroy Di Ravello’s Helicopter
