The Battlefield 3 open beta was played by over 8 million people, developer DICE has revealed.

The exact number is 8,125,310 people, according to the Battlefield blog.

The longest headshot recorded during the Battlefield 3 open beta was 635.6 metres.

Around 47 billion shots were fired in total and 1.5 billion kills registered.

Everyone who played Assault contributed 2.2 billion regenerated health; 21 million M-COM stations were destroyed; and 19 million people lost their dog tags at the end of a knife.
