The next-gen updates for both PlayStation5 and Xbox Series X|S will feature a 4K resolution, 60 fps, improved texture qualities, HDR options, and ray-tracing.

GTA V and Online will also see improved load times, 3D audio, and some more platform-specific features.

GTA V will have three different graphic settings to best fit the style of play you would like to experience.

  • Fidelity Mode targets 30 fps but has native 4K support with ray-tracing enabled. (Xbox Series S is upscaled 4K)
  • Performance Mode targets 60 fps with upscaled 4K support on PS5 and XSX while Xbox Series S supports 1080p
  • Performance RT Mode is a hybrid mode that features 60 fps, upscaled resolution with ray tracing

The PlayStation 5 version will feature Dualsense integration with Haptic Feedback and dynamic resistance using the triggers on the controller.

GTA Online is going to feature a new suite of vehicles and a new addition called Hao’s Special Works

The GTA blog post goes into more detail about Haso’s Special Works below.

“Hao’s Special Works encompasses best-in-class vehicle upgrades, a new class of Races using specially modified vehicles, and a weekly rotation of Hao’s Special Works Time Trials, along with a Premium Test Ride, where you can get behind the wheel of these newly modified vehicles for free.”

GTA Online is now a standalone title from GTA V and PlayStation 5 players will receive it for free within the first three months of its launch. New players can also experience the Career Builder feature which will give you $4 million dollars and select essentials like the Business Properties, Vehicles, and Weapons options.

The next-gen updates also have a newly designed tutorial system, a new main menu that allows you to jump to a number of different game modes.
