This news comes from a tweet from the Resident Evil account.

“Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 are coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S with visual enhancements later this year!

Those who currently own these games on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be eligible for a digital upgrade at no additional cost.”

While the team did not give a hard release date, fans can expect these by the end of 2022. Resident Evil 7 came out in 2017 and was a reimagining of what the series could be. This was shortly followed by the critically acclaimed remake of RE 2 in 2019.

While it hasn’t been a long time since these games were released, and they still look amazing on their respective hardware, a next-gen update is always welcomed and is sure to make those experiences even more terrifying.

For PC players do not fret, the Twitter account shortly followed up by saying

“Upgrade patches for all games will also be released for PC players at no additional cost when the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions launch!”
