Naoki Yoshida Says Talks About Final Fantasy XIV On Xbox Have Been Positive
If you’ve been longing to play Final Fantasy XIV on Xbox, there’s a recent development on the matter that may pique your interest. Specifically, director Naoki Yoshida did an interview with Easy Allies and in that interview, touched upon the status of a possible Xbox release.
While nothing is set in stone yet, Yoshida says that talks with Xbox have been positive.
“I feel bad for saying the same thing every time, but we are still in discussions with Microsoft and I feel like our conversations are going in a positive tone. I don’t want to say that we do not have an Xbox version, but I’m hoping that the timing will be very soon that I’ll have some kind of update to the players.”
He goes on to say that he’s sure there are a number of things people want to ask about on this topic, and that there’s a lot of things he’d love to share, however he’s unable to divulge any more information at this time.
So, while it’s not a lot to go on, the response and the knowledge that talks with Xbox have been positive are nevertheless a good sign that an Xbox release is still on the table. The interview with Easy Allies as a whole is worth a watch as Naoki Yoshida takes the time to go over other questions and topics including a preview of the future of PvP in the game.
