Mine your way to greatness on the go.

Spleunky 1 and 2 have been announced for the Nintendo Switch for quite some time now, but we’ve been waiting to find out just when we will be able to play them on the Switch. This morning in a Tweet from the Spelunky Twitter account we got the dates for the Nintendo Switch Release. You can see the tweet below.

“The light of your torch illuminates the glint of a gold idol… #Spelunky and #Spelunky2 are both coming to #NintendoSwitch on August 26, in North America, Europe, and Australia! Other regions will be announced soon!”

We will be sure to update this post for the other regions that don’t currently have a release date announced, but for those in North America, Europe, and Australia, you’ll be able to play both these games on August 26.

Both Spelunky games have been available on other platforms for almost a year now, but we’re excited to finally be able to play them on to go, or maybe even in a cave of our own.

These games can be brutally challenging and require patience and well-thought-out paths. There is danger lurking around every corner and we can’t wait to die over and over again.

Are you ready for Spelunky 1 and 2 to launch on the Nintendo Switch? Be sure to let us know all about it on the official Prima Games Twitter and Facebook pages.
