As you work your way through the Week 8 Challenges in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7, you’ll eventually run into one that tasks you with planting wiretaps at different key locations.
If you’re having trouble completing this one, or you just want to double check you understand what you need to do before you jump in and try to complete it, you’ve come to the right place.
Below, we’ve put together a quick guide on how to plant wiretaps at different key locations in Fortnite.
Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 | Plant Wiretaps at Different Key Locations
When you interact with the Legendary Quest to “Plant Wiretaps at Different Key Locations” from your Quest menu, several locations will pop up and be marked on the map. As expected, these are the locations you’ll need to visit in order to plant wiretaps.
What’s nice about this challenge is there are five marked locations (as seen in the map image above), while you only need to plant three wiretaps total. For this one, we started at Catty Corner and worked our way West through Lazy Lake and over to Defiant Dish.
Given the wiretaps can be somewhat hard to find, we’ll walk you through how we did it from Catty Corner to Defiant Dish. Starting at Catty Corner, you won’t find the wiretap within the main Catty Corner area itself.
However, you’ll likely want to land here to start in order to stock up on weapons and supplies. Additionally, there are several fruit and vegetable boxes you can open in order to find something that’ll make moving from one location to the next much easier… the jalapeno.
We recommend using jalapenos to run faster from Catty Corner to Lazy Lake and then over to Defiant Dish. You can use vehicles as well, it’s completely up to you. The first wiretap can be found near the secret bunker location.

When you find a wiretap, all you need to do is approach it and interact with it to “place” it. Next up, Lazy Lake.
The wiretap at Lazy Lake is right on the outskirt, and you’ll run into it as you run from Catty Corner over to Lazy Lake.

Finally, we wound up at Defiant Dish. Here, the wiretap is located off to the side near the fence that surrounds the area.
Like the other two, approach it and interact with it to “place” the wiretap and by this point, you should be done with the Quest.
As a reward for completing this Legendary Quest in Fortnite, you’ll earn 30,000 XP and will be free to start working on the next Quest which tasks you with interacting with an IO Operative’s computer.
