The Week 12 Challenges are live in Fortnite, bringing with them new activities for players to complete including one that tasks them with hunting three predators.
While grabbing a weapon for hunting isn’t challenging, finding and successfully hunting three predators can be a bit trickier. To help simplify everything, we’ve put together a guide on how to quickly hunt three predators in Fortnite!
Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 | Hunt 3 Predators
The first question Fortnite players might have regarding the Week 12 Challenge where you need to hunt three predators is… what counts as a predator? In Fortnite, there are two main predators to choose from: wolves and raptors.
Essentially, a predator is a creature that hunts prey, with wolves hunting animals like chickens in Fortnite and raptors doing the same. Now that you know you’re on the lookout for wolves and raptors, the next step is finding three to hunt.
You can whittle this Week 12 Challenge down over the course of several matches, but it’s preferable to complete it in a single match if you can.
When we completed this Week 12 Challenge, we chose to land inside Stealthy Stronghold. Typically on the eastern edge of Stealthy Stronghold, you’ll encounter a pack of wolves (two to three of them).
Stealthy Stronghold also offers plenty of weapons and supplies to help you have a successful hunt, and you can even link up with Lara Croft and hire her as an NPC for additional help. For example, if you need someone to watch your back while you go hunting for three wolves (or raptors).
Another location to explore is Lake Canoe as both wolves and raptors have a chance to spawn around the perimeter of the lake. And with that out of the way, your next step when you find a pack of wolves – or raptors – is to eliminate them.
When they’re eliminated, they’ll drop animal bones and meat. If the rest of the pack catches a glimpse of the meat on the ground after you eliminate a wolf or raptor, they’ll get distracted and will beeline towards the meat to eat it.
You can also throw meat on the ground to encourage predators to get closer to you, which can help if the weapon you have works better at close range.
Building a structure and picking wolves and/or raptors off from afar can be helpful as well if you have a weapon that works better from a distance.
Whatever your strategy may be, the Week 12 Challenge will be marked as complete once you’ve eliminated three predators. As a reward for completing this Week 12 Challenge, you’ll earn 24,000 XP in Fortnite.
