Testing the latest weird Resident Evil multiplayer joint

Today is Resident Evil’s official 25th anniversary, and Capcom has made a few announcements to celebrate.

Most of the announcements are just confirmations of stuff coming up, but that’s how it has to be when the new games are in the middle of development.

However! An Open Beta testing period for Resident Evil Re:Verse, Capcom’s weird multiplayer shooter, is on the way.

How to Check out the Resident Evil Re:Verse Open Beta

The Open Beta test isn’t coming up until April, but it’s going to be live for every platform available, from PlayStation 4 to PC (via Steam). First of all, you’ll be able to download the Open Beta client ahead of time, on April 5 at 5:00 PM PT, 8:00 PM ET.

Also to clarify, there won’t be bespoke PS5 or Xbox Series X/S clients, but the previous-gen clients will be available on both. If you were in the Closed Beta and haven’t deleted the client yet, you can use the same executable.

In order to join the Resident Evil Re:Verse Open Beta, all you’ll need besides the hardware is a Capcom ID account, which you probably have already if you’ve been playing Capcom games.

The testing period will run from April 7 at 1:001 PM PT, to April 10 at the same time. If you’re on the East Coast that translates to 2:00 AM on both ends.

Resident Evil Re:Verse is a celebratory game from the Resident Evil team for the 25th anniversary. It’s a multiplayer shooter in which players can play as both Resident Evil characters like Jill Valentine and Bioweapons like Mr. X. Re:Verse uses the Resident Evil assets but in a more arcade-like gameplay style with a comic book-like visual filter.
