Fourth Entry in the We Were Here Series Announced

Fans of the We Were Here series will be delighted to hear that a fourth entry has officially been announced! The fourth game is to be called We Were Here Forever and is aiming for a Q4 2021 release on Steam as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S.

We Were Here Forever will reportedly be the largest We Were Here game to date.

Not only will players be able to dive into new asymmetrical cooperative puzzles and challenges, they’ll also be able to enjoy a next gen experience “from UI to gameplay” according to the press release.

The Steam page for We Were Here Forever is up right now, and we recommend adding the game to your wishlist in order to keep track of its upcoming release. On Steam, We Were Here Forever is described as follows:

“You and your friend are trapped in the realm of Castle Rock with no way out – were you betrayed, or simply not that clever? Work together to explore and solve puzzles in this mysterious Antarctic adventure. Be aware, nothing is what it seems – there are dark secrets hidden in the shadows. Will you be able to escape?”

It’s noted that every game in the We Were Here series is a standalone co-op adventure. “The stories are connected but you don’t need to play them in order,” the Steam page for We Were Here Forever reads.

It’s also noted that the game is co-op only and requires both players to have a working PC-compatible microphone and internet connection.

Fans of the series who’ve played one or more entries in the We Were Here series in the past will be familiar with this gameplay. And for those who’ve never played a We Were Here game before, the first game in the series is available for free right now on Steam.

The description for We Were Here reads:

“Lost in a frozen wasteland and split up from your partner inside an abandoned castle, the only possession you have left is a walkie-talkie with a familiar voice on the other end. Can the two of you find your way out in time?”

The description goes on to explain what players can expect from We Were Here once they start playing.

“We Were Here is the free pilot episode in a series of cooperative standalone puzzle adventures. Two players are trapped inside an abandoned castle, with Player One confined to a small secluded part of the castle as Player Two roams the halls trying to find Player One. Every room challenges your wits and ability to communicate clearly, using only your voice.”

If you fall in love with We Were Here, there’s a bundle that you can buy on Steam that offers the “complete Antarctic experience” and includes the previous three We Were Here titles, two supporter packs, and 114 minutes of original music.

Again, you don’t have to play all of the previous games in order to play and enjoy We Were Here Forever, all of them are standalone co-op adventures.

If this sort of game sounds like something you’d be interested in playing, or you’re a fan of the series and are looking forward to the newly announced fourth entry, we recommend checking out the announcement trailer for We Were Here Forever embedded below.

We also recommend adding We Were Here Forever to your Steam wishlist, following the We Were Here account on Twitter, visiting the subreddit for We Were Here, and joining the Discord channel for We Were Here
