Among Us | How to Get a Blank Name

If you’ve been playing a lot of Among Us on mobile and have found yourself wondering how other players are able to get a blank name, you’re not alone. The trick to getting a blank name in Among Us is fairly simple, and requires the input of a special character which you can either copy/paste in or type in.

Below, we’ll walk you through the steps you need to take to get a blank name in Among Us.

If you’re wondering how to get a blank name in Among Us, the first thing you’ll need to keep in mind is that the blank name trick only works on mobile.

You won’t be able to input the special character that makes your name appear blank on PC, only on mobile. To get a blank name in Among Us on mobile you’ll first need to load up the game.

Before entering into an online match, or hosting a match, you’ll see a green box above “Host” where you’re able to input and change your name.

Select this and you’ll be able to enter in any name you like using your phone’s keyboard.

You can make yourself “Where” for a fun “Where is the Impostor” joke, and you can even make your name blank by copy/pasting in a special blank space character.

There are websites dedicated to using the blank space character on your phone for various apps, including this website, that’ll copy the character to your clipboard.

Below, we’ve also copy/pasted this character between two brackets to help you save time.

Copy the blank space between those two brackets leaving both | brackets out of your copy/paste and enter it in as your name.

Don’t worry if you accidentally copy and paste one of the | brackets, you can erase it and leave the blank space on its own. 

If you ever want to change your blank name, simply interact with the green text box again, delete the blank space, and enter in something else.

Keep in mind that the blank name trick won’t help you when it comes to voting during an Emergency Meeting because other players can see what color your character is. 

If you’re green, they can say “it was green” and vote for you blank name or not. It’s more for the sake of fun than anything else.

As noted above, the blank name trick only works on mobile, not on PC. If you want to play around with this trick, you’ll need to download and play Among Us on your phone.
