A trailer for Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness was shared with fans over the weekend on the Resident Evil social media channels, and on Netflix’s social media channels.
Not only does the trailer show what the CG anime art style will look like, we also get to see the faces of the show’s two main characters, Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy.
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is a CG Anime Coming to Netflix in 2021
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is a CG anime adaptation starring Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy and is scheduled to hit Netflix sometime in 2021.
Capcom’s Hiroyuki Kobayashi will supervise and produce the series. Joining Kobayashi, TMS Entertainment are on board for the show’s production, with Quebico doing the CG animation itself.
The teaser trailer doesn’t give too much away when it comes to the animation itself, though we do get a phenomenal close-up at the end of the teaser trailer that shows how much detail the character’s faces will have.
In the video’s description, Netflix touts the show as a horror series with a sci-fi twist.
“Based on the Capcom video game franchise, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is a horror series with a sci-fi twist. Coming 2021 only on Netflix.”
It isn’t surprising to hear the show described this way when thinking about the Resident Evil franchise as a whole.
Ultimately, there isn’t a whole lot to go on when it comes to what the show will be about. All we have is a teaser trailer to watch and speculate over.
As soon as Capcom and Netflix are ready to share more about the show’s plot with us, we’ll be sure to pass that information along to you.
If you’re less interested in watching a show on Netflix and more interested in playing a game, Resident Evil: Village is also coming out in 2021.
The game will continue Ethan Winters’ story from Resident Evil 7 Biohazard and will be available on Xbox Series X , PlayStation 5, and PC.
We’re really looking forward to both and are eager to see what else Capcom has planned for the Resident Evil franchise in the future.
