Fortnite: Are There Sharks in Team Rumble?

It's a lot easier to complete weekly challenges in Team Rumble, prompting players to wonder if there are sharks in Team Rumble?

The launch of Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 3 saw the addition of a new type of vehicle, and it’s not one you’d expect. The new ride a shark feature allows players to catch a shark and then ride around behind it. Further, a lot of the new challenges are shark-related, leading a lot of players to wonder if there are sharks in Team Rumble, as that is usually an easier place to complete weekly challenges. Let’s take a look.

Are there Sharks in Team Rumble?

If you’re trying to complete the Aquaman Week 2 challenge, which will require you to ride a loot shark in at Sweaty Sands you’re probably wondering if there are sharks in Team Rumble, so you can complete this challenge easier. After all, in Team Rumble you’re able to respawn, making it easier to complete most every challenge. Well, I’ve got some bad news. From what I can tell, there are no sharks in Team Rumble. I rode around all over the map looking for them and couldn’t find a single one, so if there are sharks, then there are very few of them.

So if you’re trying to complete a shark-based challenge in Fortnite, it seems you’re going to have to stick to the regular game modes. Luckily, there are a few places you can visit to make finding sharks in Fortnite a bit easier. Specifically, players should go to the Fortilla or other island-based locations for a better chance at finding sharks. However, it’s worth mentioning that some challenges, like the Aquaman Week 2 challenge, will require players to visit specific locations. If that’s the case, you’ll just have to keep checking those spots until you find one.

You’ll be able to recognize a shark fairly easily because you can see its fin sticking out of the water. Further, if it spots you, it’ll likely swim towards you and try to attack. Additionally, if you’re in a place with Henchmen, like the Fortilla, then you can also find sharks by watching the Henchmen, as they will shoot at them.

Once you’ve spotted a shark, you can catch it by grabbing a fishing pole and throwing it out in front of them. It can be a bit tricky to get them to take the bait, but if you throw it into their swimming path they should go for it. Then, simply hold on for the ride! So even though there are no sharks in Team Rumble, it’s still possible to complete the Fortnite shark challenges without too much trouble.

Chapter 2: Season 3 released earlier this month and brought tons of changes to the game. In the links below, you’ll find some of our more recent coverage of the new season.
