For those EA Access members that want to continue ranking up their Steam cred, now you can because the service is making yet another move. Confirmed on the Steam platform itself from Valve, a new Electronic Arts banner, and subsequent game titles can be seen proclaiming that the EA service is “coming soon to Steam.”

EA Access is a subscription service that offers major discounts on games under the Electronic Arts umbrella in addition to free games, early trials, and more. The move to Steam is a large one, considering that EA Access has operated independently on its own Origins platform when it comes to PC gaming. Many may also note that the move is still called EA Access versus EA Origins, keeping in-line with the branding that PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players are familiar with.

Electronic Arts’ membership has grown exponentially since it first launched, offering now two versions of this membership with the Premier version and the Basic. Basic membership includes 10-hour trials for new games, for free, as well as access to the Vault and ongoing sales. The Premier service goes beyond demos and allows for instant, full access to new releases.

This also means PC-specific EA titles like Apex Legends will also be making the jump over to Steam, which is a huge move for that player base, especially for those that like to clock that game time under one roof.

As for today, there are some titles that already made their migration over to Steam in prep for the full inclusion coming at a later date. These games include:

  • Burnout Paradise Remastered
  • Crysis 3
  • Dragon Age: Inquisition
  • Fe
  • Mirror’s Edge Catalyst
  • Need for Speed
  • Need for Speed: Heat
  • Need for Speed: Rivals
  • Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville
  • Sea of Solitude
  • Unravel
  • Unravel 2

With the Mass Effect and Dragon Age franchises, they have been split up with the first two games being on Steam and the final entries being left under the Origins umbrella. To see the move over to make these series united once more is a great move as well, especially for those gamers like me that need a sort of order when it comes to their library. Silly, I know.

We don’t know when the full move will be taking place, but this is likely something they will highlight mover during their EA Playshowcase that is slated for June 11. We will update this story as soon as we have more concrete dates.
