Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 Delayed In Support Of Recent Nationwide Protests

Call of Duty: Warzone was supposed to make its season 4 debut this week, but the team behind the shooter decided now is not the time.

Call of Duty: Warzone was supposed to make its season 4 debut this week, but the team behind the shooter decided now is not the time. Following Sony’s statement that they would be pushing back their June 4th showcase, many other companies chimed in to follow suit in support of the protests against police brutality. Interestingly enough, Activision also joined with a statement explaining their decision to halt Call of Duty: Modern Warfare season 4.

The studio behind Call of Duty took to the game’s official Twitter account to explain why they felt a delay was necessary. According to the team, “While we all look forward to playing the new seasons of Modern Warfare, Warzone, and Call of Duty: Mobile, now is not the time,” reads their statement seen below.

“We are moving the launches of Modern Warfare Season 4 and Call of Duty: Mobile season 7 to later dates. Right now it’s time for those speaking up for equality, justice, and change to be seen and heard. We stand alongside you.” 

No new dates were given at this time and for good reason. It’s not the time and to use a message to say it’s not the time only to promote a reveal would be counterproductive. We’ll know soon enough when the next season begins, but Activision is just one of many businesses making a public statement about the current events that began in the United States but have quickly spread to a global scale with many countries around the world joining the fight currently going on now. 

It’s also important to note that many are participating in the #BlackoutTuesday on social media as a time dedicated to talking about what’s going on right now.
