Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Among the Four New Call of Duty Games Reportedly In Development

"Why have one Call of Duty game when you can have FOUR Call of Duty Games" - Activision, apparently
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Call of Duty is one of those franchises that has an annual release that gamers can expect around the same time every year. Announcing that a new one is in the works isn’t news but four in the works at the same time including a Modern Warfare 2 remastered edition? That’s news, at least if recent reports are accurate.

One source that has quite the impressive track record when it comes to Call of Duty leaks is TheGameRevolution and their latest report alleges that there are four new Call of Duty titles on the way including Modern Warfare 2 Remastered, Call of Duty 2020, a continuation of last year’s Modern Warfare reboot, and a free-to-play Call of Duty entry from the team over at Sledgehammer. The four games are reportedly being released within the 2020 and 2021 timeframes with announcements slated for this year.

The same source also talked about how an Easter egg could point at other Activision plans, including the Tony Hawk leak we covered earlier this week:

The Modern Warfare 2 remastered leak is nothing new, numerous leaks and even conversations from the devs themselves have suggested that this is on the way. That, and the community has been wildly vocal about wanted to see this particular entry remastered. That, and the ESRB accidentally leaked it as well, so at this point, we’re just waiting on official confirmation.

The continuation of the Modern Warfare reboot is also no surprise given how much success that take has seen since it launched back in 2019. That, and the recent release of the free-to-play battle royale portion of Modern Warfare, called Warzone, also revitalized the play experience in a major way.

As with all leaks that we report, take everything seen above with a grain of salt. No matter how much evidence something has or how many leaks support it, always wait until there is official confirmation from the studio itself before taking something like this at face value.
