Virtual Reality has grown exponentially through the years and while we have a Nintendo Switch version, we still don’t have a The Witcher VR experience. While that might be for the best, one fan decided to make their own Witcher VR adventure and it actually looks pretty dope.
Now to clarify, this is a Witcher 1 mod and is only for PC. Basically what The Witcher VR mod does is it revamps The Witcher 1 in Unreal Engine 4. Presently, players can only use this VR take to walk around Kaer Morhen but the creator did mention that they were actively working on expanding what this experience has to offer.
Modder ‘PatrykLoan’ mentioned, “With new updates, I can add new maps. Also, I have a plan to make a fully playable plot, like a Prologue, or maybe something mine. In general, we will have a lot of time to discuss all this.”
It’s pretty boss but as you can imagine, also pretty limited due to the game of choice and what’s available at this time. That being said, The Witcher VR experience is compatible with the Oculus, HTC, and WMR headsets. More support is coming at a later time but for now, check out the spiffy The Witcher VR mod trailer below:
Don’t have the very first Witcher game? There’s a Director’s Cut edition available on Steam now:
The Witcher is a role-playing game set in a dark fantasy world where moral ambiguity reigns. Shattering the line between good and evil, the game emphasizes story and character development, while incorporating a tactically-deep, real-time combat system.
Become The Witcher, Geralt of Rivia, and get caught in a web of intrigue woven by forces vying for control of the world. Make difficult decisions and live with the consequences in a game that will immerse you in an extraordinary tale like no other.
