Netflix’s The Witcher series has been a massive success despite earlier doubts on how the team would adapt the popular novels that spawned the incredible game series by CD Projekt RED. With the series that quickly became the most streamed show, even beating out the Mandalorian, it’s no wonder why many are wondering when they can watch Netflix’s The Witcher season 2.
When is Netflix’s The Witcher season 2?
Unfortunately, we don’t have an exact release date at this time, though the showrunner, Lauren S. Hissrich, did recently confirm in a recent Reddit AMA that it won’t arrive until 2021. When asked for any more details, she responded “We don’t yet have a target launch date for season 2, past 2021.” While a bummer that we have an entire year (and then some) to wait, we do at least have the knowledge that season 2 of The Mandalorian will be coming this year, which is pretty grand considering these two shows were neck and neck in terms of viewership.
As far as what we can expect from season 2, Hissrich mentioned recently in an interview with GamesRadar that the next season will be “…much more focused. There’s a stronger drive in the story, because all of the relationships that we’ve been setting up in season one, actually start to come into fruition in season two…all of those building blocks that we set up for the world, finally start to come together into something a little more concrete.”
Haven’t seen The Witcher Netflix series yet for its first season? Want to watch so you can understand all of the “toss” jokes and song references and Jaskier fan-fare? Then make sure to check it out on Netflix now!
