It’s Monday and a new day, which means another new Bully 2 rumor. Though we’ve had some incredible leaks and rumors here in the past several months, the latest tid-bit to come down the grapevine is infinitely less exciting, especially for those craving a new Bully 2 game in the near future.
According to an “inside source” that came forward to VGC, Bully 2 was in the works a few years ago and while a “very small slice” was considered playable, the rest fell off the map and was never finished. We’ve seen rumors and leaked transcripts in the past citing that Bully 2 would see our protagonist in his college years, we’ve even seen a few alleged screenshots, but we’ve also seen numerous reports of cancellations and “pauses,” which makes us wonder what Rockstar Games has up their sleeves for their next big release.
Reportedly, Bully 2 offered “simplistic open-world gameplay. It was build using the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE), the same engine used for Grand Theft Auto VI and V, Max Payne 3, and both Red Dead Redemption games.” While exciting, it looks like that’s where the work ended, citing that the teams attached to the next Bully were eventually assigned to other projects.
Like with all rumors, take this with a grain of salt. Both the revival and the cancellation news are not from Rockstar Games itself,w hich means nothing has been confirmed at this time. We’ve reached out to our own contacts for comment, though this studio is known for being able to keep its secrets, so we’re not expecting a focused answer as a reply.
Previous rumors suggested that the game wasn’t cancelled and will instead feature a college-theme for our protagonist. A familiar protagonist but a new enough setting for unlimited potential.
