Uncharted Movie Release Date Reveals With Tom Holland As A Young Drake

The Uncharted movie starring Spider-Man's Tom Holland has been confirmed for quite some time now, now we have a release date.

The Uncharted movie starring Spider-Man’s Tom Holland has been confirmed for quite some time now, though no release window has been offered up until now. Now the adaptation off of the popular PlayStation franchise has an official release date under the charge of Director Shawn Levy, expected to drop into theaters on December 18th, 2020.

The confirmation comes way of The Hollywood Reporter, which is the first we’ve gotten about a projected launch day for the next big gaming film. Holland, who some have mentioned they were worried about his age and preferred actors like Nathan Fillion instead, won’t be playing the Nathan Drake we know from the games, instead he’ll be playing a much younger version of our beloved protagonist.

For those worried about another video game movie adaptation, Levy mentioned earlier last year in a previous interview that he’s working very closely with the game’s creator Neil Druckmann. “Neil and I have met many times and we have known each other for a long time,” said the director, “even in private life we have an excellent relationship. Let’s say that Neil understood the fact that I will respect the game a lot but at the same time I will try to tell an original story about Nathan Drake that has not yet been told in the game. So I respect what he did, what he built and he respects my decisions that are more strictly cinematographic, related to the plot. It is a very good collaboration process.”

While we do have a release date, we still don’t have an official story synopsis, but given that the date is so far away it could be a bit longer before we see what story will be brought to life.

The Uncharted film is slated for a December 18th, 2020 release in theaters everywhere.
