Apex Legends Sees A Massive Dip In Viewership

Apex Legends viewership is dropping drastically, far sooner than that of Fortnite and Blackout.

It’s the age of battle royale and before Blackout and Apex Legends, PUBG and Fortnite reigned supreme. Then Respawn surprised the gaming community when they out-of-the-blue revealed Apex Legends. Since its launch earlier this year, Legends skyrocketed to popularity, quickly outshining that of Call of Duty’s take on the PvP mode. It’s a phenomenal game – though apparently not as interesting to watch comparitively to that of Fortnite, at least according to the most recent StreamElements analytics.

Fortnite can be seen marked in purple in the graph above, while Apex Legends is highlighted in red. Despite being out for much longer, Fortnite’s veiwership has actually seen an increase in the last month, while Apex Legends saw a massive decline. While shocking when looking at the numbers above, it is important to note that the online title is very much still seeing an active player base, and one that is no small amount of players.

Still, it’s the battle royale that took the gaming world by storm, so to see such a massive decline is interesting. Even more so since they debuted their own take on the Battle Pass not long ago – an incentive to get more players in the game, and for longer periods of time.

One thing we know for sure is that Fortnite’s viewership and active players will see another increase later this week since Epic Games just teased their upcoming Avengers Endgame event. Still, Apex Legends has a lot to offer as well and the team over at Respawn has assured fans that it’s only going to get better from here.
