It’s almost been a full year since Santa Monica released God of War for the PlayStation 4, and it’s been almost a full year since fans of Kratos were absolutely blown away by his reinvention. Now Sony and the studio behind the latest godly tale are celebrating with players by offering a free PlayStation 4 theme and associated avatar!

The theme itself is dynamic, perfectly encapsulating the sheer power that Kratos himself emits. The PS4 theme itself is available now, with an avatar dropping this Wednesday shortly after. The best part? You don’t even have to own the game to partake in the freebie goodness!

Ready to claim yours? Siomply login to your PSN account via the console or the web, and head over to the God of War page. There, you’ll see a God of War – Your Journey Awaits Dynamic Theme, hit download and you’re good to go!

Though the avatar isn’t yet available, it will be going live for all to claim this Wednesday, April 17.

“This past year we’ve been graced beyond belief with the Game of the Year honor from an astounding number of outlets worldwide,” said Santa Monica Studio Head Shannon Studstill. “We’re humbled, and even more honored to be in the same breath as so many masterpiece games who unquestionably deserve the same distinction. Like so many in our industry, at Santa Monica Studio we craft games and strive to tell powerful, emotionally connecting stories. This year marks 20 years since our studio was founded. If I had to predict the next 20 years of Santa Monica Studio, I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to create games whose art reflects life, life reflects art, with stories we want to resonate for years to come.”

The latest entry into the franchise completely rennovated what Kratos meant to fans as we saw him in a never-before-seen role: a father.

Haven’t checked out the game for yourself yet? Now’s the perfect time, exclusively on PlayStation 4.
