If you’ve played Fortnite recently, you’ve probably noticed other players thanking the bus driver prior to departing from the Battle Bus at the start of each match. What initially began as a sort of inside joke amongst the Fortnite community became an in-game reality in 2018, when Epic added this fun feature to Fortnite Battle Royale. For those who are wondering how to perform this simple gesture, keep reading to find out how to thank the bus driver in Fortnite on each platform.
How to Thank the Bus Driver in Fortnite
Thanking the bus driver is very simple. This gesture happens to be assigned to the same button that brings up the Emotes wheel in Fortnite, which will typically mean pressing down on the directional pad when using a controller. However, since this button differs depending on the platform you’re playing on, we’ve clarified which button to press to thank the bus driver on each platform for Fortnite in the list below.
- PC – The ‘B’ key on the keyboard
- Xbox One – Down on the D-Pad
- PS4 – Down on the D-Pad
- Nintendo Switch – Down on the D-Pad
- Mobile Devices – Emote button in upper right corner
Now, all you have to do to thank the bus driver in Fortnite is press the appropriate emote button for your platform before you leap from the Battle Bus at the start of the match. Your gratitude will be written in the lower left corner of the display.
Thanking the bus driver in Fortnite doesn’t really have any impact gameplay-wise, unless you are completing a challenge like the one in the 14 Days of Fortnite event. Speaking of which, we’ve got several guides that will help you complete some of Season 7’s most difficult challenges, including where to visit giant candy canes, where to search between three ski lodges, how to launch fireworks, and where to search between a giant rock man, crowned tomato, and encircled tree in Fortnite.
