In this guide, we’ll explain everything you need to know about how to use Shadow Stones and what they do in Fortnite Battle Royale.

Where are the Shadow Stones?

Shadow Stones are typically found on or around corrupted areas of the map, which are the crater-like patches of ground that have a glowing purple symbol in the center of them. Shadow Stones are the small purple cubes scattered around these corrupted sections.

How to Use Shadow Stones

To use and consume a Shadow Stone, simply pick them up at any of the corrupted zones on the map in Fortnite Battle Royale. Consuming a Shadow Stone will cause you to enter Shadow Form, which lasts for a brief period of time.

In Shadow Form, you become invisible to enemies when stationary and will have a slight Shadow Trail when moving. You cannot use your weapons while in Shadow Form, but you do gain increased movement speed, as well as immunity to falling and jump height damage.

Shadow Form also grants you the ‘Phase’ ability, which is a sort of a forward dash maneuver that allows you to pass through objects. Shadow Form has a 45-second duration, but can be turned off early by pressing the Alt Fire (aim down sights) button.

How to Use Shadow Stones in Fortnite

Shadow Form is best used for stealth tactics or evasive maneuvers. Consuming a Shadow Stone comes in handy if you are trying to pass by enemies unnoticed or slip through forts using the Phase ability. This is also a great method for sneaking up on an opponent. Approach someone in Shadow Form, then cancel the form as soon as you’re close enough to strike.

Using Shadow Stones in different matches will complete one of the free Week 2 challenges for Season 6. When looking for Shadow Stones, try to visit all of the corrupted areas on the map at least once to mark off another one of the challenges for Week 2. This is a great way to easily level up the Season 6 Battle Pass while experimenting with some new in-game mechanics.

Now that you know how to use Shadow Stones in Fortnite, you should be able to incorporate them into your stealth tactics for Season 6. For more Fortnite tutorials, visit our guide on where to dance under different streetlights to complete yet another challenge for Season 6.
