Will Octopath Traveler Come to PS4?

The basic answer is a simple no, Octopath Traveler will not come to the PlayStation 4, at least not in the US. Octopath Traveler is a collaboration between publisher Square Enix and developer Acquire. However, it was only published by Square Enix in Japan. Nintendo published the game throughout the rest of the world. Because the game was published by Nintendo everywhere outside of Japan, there’s no chance that Octopath Traveler, as it currently exists, will make it over to the PS4.

In Japan there is a small chance Square Enix could decide to port the game over to the PS4, but there are no plans for any such release at the moment. It’s also possible that some sort of modified or revamped version of Octopath Traveler with a new title (like Octopath Traveler Extreme Edition or something) could potentially release on PS4 outside of Japan, but that it also highly unlikely.

At this point, if you want to play Octopath Traveler, your best bet is to simply buy a Nintendo Switch or see if you can borrow one from a friend. Thanksgiving isn’t that far away, and the Nintendo Switch is bound to see some pretty good deals this year.
