Fortnite – How to Visit the Center of Named Locations in a Single Match

The penultimate week of challenges for Fortnite Season 4 are now available, and players are scrambling to rank up their Battle Pass before the season ends. One of the Week 9 challenges requires players to visit the center of named locations in a single match. We’ll explain what it means to visit the center of named locations in Fortnite and the best way to go about completing this challenge.

Visit the Center of Named Locations in a Single Match

Much like the challenge from last season that required players to visit the center of different storm circles, this Season 4 challenge features an indicator to help guide your way. When you reach the center of a named location, look for a white pole that looks a bit like a pogo stick. 

When you get close enough to the pole, it will raise a custom flag featuring your unique banner insignia. This is how you know you’ve properly visited the center of the named location. 

Of course, ‘named locations’ just means any town or point of interest that has a visible name on the map, such as Tomato Town, Salty Springs, etc. Players must visit the center of four of these locations in a single match of Fortnite Battle Royale in order to complete the challenge. 

The best way to complete this challenge is to start at one of the less popular named locations. Avoid going to a named location like Tilted Towers where a lot of players drop at the start, as you’ll have a higher likelihood of getting eliminated before you can reach the center or move on to the next location. 

Tips for Visiting the Center of Named Locations

Look at the Battle Bus route at the start of the match, then drop into a named location that’s as far away from the bus as possible. This will decrease the chances of you running into enemies early and will give you some time to make your way to other named locations. 

Choose an area that has multiple named locations within close proximity to one another so that you can quickly run from one place to the next. On the east side of the map, Risky Reels, Wailing Woods, Tomato Town, and Lonely Lodge are all relatively close to one another. On the west side, you should be able to visit Junk Junction, Haunted Hills, and Pleasant Park in quick succession before moving on to your fourth named location.

After you have visited four named locations in a single match, make sure to complete the match normally by either getting eliminated or winning the round. If you leave the match early, then your progress won’t count toward the challenge. 

If you drop in at Junk Junction, keep in mind that this is where the Haunted Hills treasure map points to this week, so there’s a good chance you’ll run into players looking to grab their Battle Star.
