Hotori is one of the main characters in Neverness to Everness, finally arriving with her own banner in patch 1.0.16. If you have played through the story, you’ve seen her countless times already.

However, is she actually worth spending your dice and Annuliths for? The short answer is absolutely yes. Here’s why you should spend every single resource you have to try and get Hotori in NTE.

How Good is Hotori in Neverness to Everness?

Hotori is one of the strongest DPS characters in the game. She fits perfectly into Charge and Blossom teams. Her basic attacks do a lot of damage, but her playstyle is quite different from other DPS characters. Using her skill spends her Non-Closed Timepiece energy (basically her charge), which prevents her from using her ultimate ability, World’s Tide. That’s what makes her playstyle different, as you need to play around her energy bar or basically refrain from using her skill, which seems unnatural.

Nevertheless, her World’s Tide ability allows her to deal 10 instances of damage while completely stopping time around her, disabling all enemies. This is extremely strong, especially for content with time restraints like the currently hardest content in the game, Beyond the Rails.

After acquiring Hotori, I’ve managed to completely finish Beyond the Rails up to 21 seals in the Prime Circle content. Before acquiring her, I was only at 12 seals, without changing any gear/modules from other characters and just sliding her over to replace Chiz, who is also an extremely strong character when played correctly.

Hotori’s World’s Tide ability feels like it was literally built to break through the Beyond the Rails content, which is very important to all players because the Prime Circle is a monthly-reset content that gives a massive chunk of Annuliths.

For an overview of a good team using Hotori, you’ll want to use her on a Charge team, meaning you want to activate the Charge Esper cycle using Cosmos, Anima, and Lakshana elements. The ideal team would be Zero (main character), Hotori, Jiuyuan, and Hathor.

Zero is powerful because of his/her ability to keep the cycles going. Jiuyuan uses her Intel Hunter skill to round up the enemies. Once rounded up, Hotori can use her World’s Tide ultimate so she can freely hit all the enemies at once with her 10 damage instances. The closer the enemies are together, the better. Hathor can activate Remora and start Charge, giving the active character 10 additional Ultimate Energy when Vita Pistils hit targets affected by Remora. Hathor is also good because she can land nukes when her ultimate is up and she’s all charged up.

Now, if you don’t have the other characters for this team, is she still worth pulling? Well, in terms of progression, you still want to get her because of her power level. She could be the most powerful Cosmos character. However, if you don’t have many resources to pull and you don’t want to spend money, it is fine to skip Hotori’s banner since Chiz is also a powerful Cosmos unit, which you can get for free by just leveling your City Tycoon.
