How to Upgrade Weapons in Pragmata
Don't miss out on this!
Weapons, or “units,” play a key role in combat at the Lunar Research Station in Pragmata, providing tactical advantage over bots. Upgrading the ones you rely on most is essential if you want to stay effective. Here’s how weapon upgrades work in Pragmata.
Upgrade Weapons in Pragmata
When you reach the Shelter for the first time in Pragmata, you will unlock the Unit Printer. Interacting with it allows you to print a variety of attachments, weapons, hacking nodes, and abilities by spending Lunafilament and Pure Lunum. It is also where you will upgrade your weapons, though that option is not available right away.
- During your time in the Lunar Research Station, you’ll come across Data Shards and defeat bosses to upgrade the Shelter level. Every bit of progress will unlock new weapons, abilities, and more at the Unit Printer.
- Once you see a weapon listed under the Weapons tab at the Unit Printer, you need to print it once for 100 Lunafilament.

- This will allow you to equip it at the Tram Terminal and unlock the ability to upgrade it further for some actual improved stats. A cutscene will play out, unlocking the weapon at the Tram Terminal.

- After that, whenever you spend Lunafilament and Pure Lunum for that specific weapon at the Unit Printer, it will increase its level, improving a variety of stats, like damage, rate of fire, ammo capacity, and more.

Each upgrade will cost more, and initially it’s just Lunafilament required, but eventually you’ll need to spend Pure Lunum as well, which is why it’s important to prioritize upgrading weapons you actually use and not waste upgrade materials on weapons that don’t fit your playstyle. Don’t worry, though, as you’ll get plenty of upgrade materials for a decent number of weapon upgrades.
Here’s an example of what you can expect in terms of upgrades for the Shockwave Gun:
| Level | Effect |
|---|---|
| Level 1 | Can be equipped at the Tram Terminal |
| Level 2 | Damage ↑ |
| Level 3 | Rate of Fire ↑ |
| Level 4 | Ammo Capacity ↑ |
| Level 5 | Damage ↑ ↑ |
| Level 6 | Rate of Fire ↑ ↑ |
This is easily one of the best units in the entire game and something I highly recommend upgrading to the highest level. Once you’ve reached the Max level, the weapon can’t be upgraded further.

Finding More Lunafilament
If you want more Lunafilament, keep an eye out for Safe Boxes in each area (you can also revisit each area!), as they usually contain a large amount of it. Additionally, you can earn Lunafilament by completing the challenges in different training simulation missions offered by Cabin at the Shelter.

Even though this is an essential part of the combat experience, it’s actually kind of easy to miss. You might assume early on that the Unit Printer only prints the weapon for you to use, but it’s actually doing a lot more than that and is responsible for upgrading not just weapons, but unlock new, very useful attachments and abilities.
