Friendship Levels

When you first begin the game, you may notice that everyone except Shallot has a friendship level. This is essentially an indication of how well Shallot and the other characters work together. The more you fight alongside someone, the more your friendship level will increase. Increasing your friendship level grants item rewards, and once you reach the maximum friendship level you can train with that character and learn some powerful new attacks.

You probably won’t want to learn every single attack in the game, but it’s still a good idea to increase your friendship levels as often as possible. That way, if a situation arises in which you need a specific attack, you can train with that person, learn the attack and continue on with your game without having to worry about grinding to reach the max friendship level before you can even think about training.
