There Is No Game was a hilarious… well, game. The originality and humour were unmatched at the time, and now the creators, Draw Me A Pixel, are back with another point-and-click adventure. Called Crushed In Time, the new title sees the return of Sherlock and Watson.

In Crushed In Time, everything is elastic, which plays a huge part in how you solve puzzles you’ll encounter throughout the world. Click and drag pretty much anything, and it’ll stretch and bounce. It’s a really satisfying mechanic that lends itself well to the genre.

The premise is that a crucial character has gone missing from a game, and it’s up to the hapless Sherlock and the only slightly less hapless Dr Watson to solve the mystery and find the character – before the review bombs destroy any chance of a comeback for the game. It’s an interesting take on things, and the same witty humor from the previous game is on full display here.

You’ll be chuckling from start to finish as you navigate the puzzles and challenges this elastic new world throws at you.

The demo is up and available to play right now as a part of Steam’s February Nextfest, so check out the Steam page to learn more and to download the demo.

Personally, I can’t wait for the full release to see the entire story unfold in what is sure to be more hilarity and the odd hidden moral lesson.

Crushed In Time is slated to release sometime in 2026.

As a lifetime gamer, I was around to enjoy the NES, witness the birth of the PS1, and live through the golden age that was the PS2. My favorite game (no doubt driven by nostalgia) is Final Fantasy VII, but I'm always on the lookout for my new favorite.
