PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds rolled out a brand new update for PC today. PUBG’s PC Update #7 adds emotes, achievements, and a dedicated friends list to PC 1.0, as was promised in last week’s 2018 PUBG Roadmap. PUBG Update #7 is live now, so just make sure you’re running the latest version of PUBG on Steam to receive the update.
One of the highlights of PUBG Update #7 is the addition of a new emote system, which currently offers 12 different emotes for players to express themselves with. To use an emote in PUBG, simply press and hold the emote menu key (which defaults to ~ on PC) and then left-click on the emote you wish to perform.
More emotes will be added to PUBG in the future. You can get a quick preview of one of the PUBG emotes in the GIF below.
PUBG Update #7 also introduced the PUBG Friends List to the game, which allows players to add up to 50 friends specifically on PUBG. The PUBG Friends List is separate from your Steam friends list, which means you don’t need to be friends with someone on Steam to be friends in PUBG. The latest patch notes describe the PUBG Friends List as “a one-way follower concept, not a mutual acceptance between players.”
Achievement hunters can also look forward to unlocking 37 new Steam Achievements for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, starting today. The PUBG Steam Achievements include tasks like obtaining a Chicken Dinner in each game mode or wearing the outfit of a dead player.
To read the full list of changes in today’s patch, head over to the PUBG PC 1.0 Update #7 on Steam. Despite their promise to implement new anti-cheat measures for PUBG, the developers decided to postpone their anti-cheat update in order to stabilize the patch.
