Nioh 3 is arguably one of the most exciting early releases for 2026 and has already seen major improvements thanks to its demo on PS5. Unlike the previous releases, the PC version is releasing at the same time, and we finally have our first look at its technical side.

Now, there are a few key things to be aware of here. First, both the minimum and recommended specifications are with upscaling in mind, which means that the 1080p target isn’t natively rendered. The requirements don’t specify the quality level for which the upscaling technique is used, either, but I’d assume that the minimum requirements utilize a more aggressive preset.

On the lower end, you can technically have a playable experience at 30 FPS with a GTX 1060 featuring 6 GB of VRAM, paired with a Ryzen 5 3600. You need a CPU with a minimum of 6 cores as part of the requirements.

On the higher side of 1080p (not native) and a 60 FPS target, you need an RTX 3060 Ti with 8 GB of VRAM paired with a Ryzen 5600X if you want to play at the “Standard” graphical preset. For action-focused titles like Nioh, I wouldn’t want to play at anything below 60 FPS.

Nioh 3 also requires 125 GB of free space, which is a significant step up compared to Nioh 2, which required 85 GB, which makes sense since this is an open-world title now. Finally, Windows 11 is the recommended OS, which is par for the course for most modern releases that are slowly phasing out Windows 10 support.

Now, while the requirements don’t have frame generation enabled, Nioh 3 does support it, which is nice if you have a steady 60 FPS and want to improve that.

Nioh 3 Release Date

Nioh 3 is releasing on PC and PS5 on February 6, 2026, with pre-orders live across all storefronts.

Make sure to read up on the game’s support for online features like crossplay and available game modes. Nioh 3 is being developed on KOEI TECMO’s Katana Engine, and I hope that it’s in a much better state on PC compared to their last few releases.
