Does Nioh 3 Have Crossplay Support? Answered

Nioh MP, best MP.

Nioh 3 won’t be a timed PlayStation exclusive this time around and will launch on PC and PS5 simultaneously. Multiplayer has been a part of the series since the first entry, and Nioh 3 continues this trend by allowing players to summon and assist one another.

While it’s great that co-op is retained despite the more open nature of the new entry, what about crossplay? Will Nioh 3 be the first in the series to support it? Here’s what you need to know.

Does Nioh 3 Have Crossplay Support?

No, Nioh 3 will not support crossplay between PC and PS5. This was confirmed on the game’s official website as a disclaimer tucked away in the systems section.

Since the game is only launching on Steam for PC and on PS5, players will be limited to playing with others on the same platform. This is unfortunate because you would expect multiplayer to no longer be restricted by platform at this point.

Nioh 3 Multiplayer Features

While most of the features are similar to Nioh 2, there are some new systems in place.

  • Bloody Grave: When players die in Nioh, they leave behind a red tombstone called a Bloody Grave. If you interact with it, you can fight an AI version of that player, whom you can defeat to their equipment and items.
  • Benevolent Grave: If you want to assist players without actually being summoned and earn rewards in the process, you can set up Benevolent Graves in Nioh 3 as well. Other players can offer an Ochoko Cup to summon your AI version, who can assist them in battle.
  • Bloodedge Demon (New Feature): This is a Yokai formed by the shared strength of several Revenents. Defeating this Yokai will reward you with rare items as well as the equipment contained within the nearby bloody grave. This specific Yokai isn’t confined to a specific area either, and will appear in different places. I’m assuming it depends on how many Bloody graves there are in that area.
  • Summon Visitor: You can summon or be summoned by other players to assist them in battle or take their help. This is a temporary form of co-op.
  • Expeditions: This is a more in-depth form of co-op where you can explore open fields together beyond just battles as well. This is a more persistent form of co-op.

Nioh 3 Release Date

Nioh 3 is coming to PC and PS5 on February 6, 2026, and it’s being published by KOEI TECMO.

It doesn’t seem likely, but I really hope the developers consider adding crossplay support to Nioh 3 down the line or even at launch if we’re lucky. It would really help connect the community across platforms and allow them to enjoy the game together, without needing to buy it on the same platforms.
