With Hades 2 fully launched on September 26, 2025, the game now offers the true ending to the main story. It’ll take a lot of time to finish, but it’ll revolve around two new Incantations and some awesome runs to achieve.
Here’s a short explainer on how to get the true ending in Hades 2.
How to Get the Dissolution of Time and Unlock the True Ending in Hades 2

For the true ending, you must get the Dissolution of Time by beating Chronos for the first time, which only works after patching your game out of early access to version 1.0 or higher.
Once you have the incantation or recipe, head to the Incantation area (the big cauldron) and look for the ingredients. You’ll need five Z-Sands, which drop from Chronos, meaning you’ll have to beat him five times to get enough materials. Apart from five Z-Sands, you’ll also need an unknown material.
The unknown material in question is called the “Entropy.” If it didn’t show up as an unknown material to you, you might have finished a Typhon run, naturally unlocking the other Incantation related to getting the true ending.
This is because finishing the Disintegration of Monstrosity and defeating Typhon gives you the item, allowing you to finally beat Chronos and get the true ending.
To summarize, you must:
- Get five Z-Sands by defeating Chronos five times.
- Beat Typhon to get some V-Lens.
- Finish Disintegration of Monstrosity and defeat Typhon again for Entropy.
- Create the Dissolution of Time using the Z-Sands and Entropy.
- Beat Chronos to get the true ending.
This will take a lot of time, since you’ll probably be alternating between Chronos and Typhon runs. That is how the game is designed, which is why the story also alters when you use each of those Incantations mentioned. I’ll just leave it at that to avoid spoilers.
