Ultimate Tips and Tricks Guide for Killing Floor 3

Here’s a rough compilation of things you’ll want to know when playing Killing Floor 3:
- Upgrading armor also refills armor durability. You can save some Dosh by upgrading instead of refilling armor.
- You can heal while moving. You can also slide while healing.
- Sliding is faster than just running.
- Picking up armor or loot inside chests is separate for each person (multitool required).
- Zipline usage has a cooldown.
- You revive with 50% of your maximum health when helped up.
- Destroying cameras yields resources such as Biosteel or Electronic Parts. Destroying screens and other random equipment should also give you more resources.
- Everyone receives materials from resources obtained at each stage, such as broken cameras and screens.
- You get more Dosh when you kill Zeds.
- You can join a party in the middle of a game.
- Headshots give you more Zed Time meter.
- All Perks can equip multitools. It isn’t just the Engineers.
- Glowing parts on Zeds are critical zones you can hit for more damage.
- Executing Fleshpounds and Scrakes will cause a massive explosion, dealing damage to all enemies and giving you a big amount of Dosh.
- Press “F” to turn on the flashlight.
- Equipping your knife lets you run faster.
- Weapon mods can be upgraded.
- Operational budget increases as you level up your Perk’s level.
- You can resupply ammo from the trader pod in the middle of a wave.
- Holding “F” during a wave will give you a tracker to the nearest trader pod.
- Zeds can break down closed doors. You’re not safe behind one.
- You can reuse turrets without additional uses of the multitool.
- Use bashes when heavily surrounded by Zeds and you don’t have any utility or power to clear them quickly.
- There are several environmental traps around the maps, such as explosive barrels. Use your surroundings.
- You can start with modded weapons when your operation budgets get high enough.
- Upgrade skills that can increase your HP early in your progression.
- You can change Perks while in the loadout selection screen, not just inside the Stronghold.
- Killing Bloats will cause it to explode.
- Shooting a Bloat’s head off will prevent the explosion.
- If you shoot a Bloat’s head off, it will sometimes walk forward a bit and do a small slashing attack. Amazing detail here.
- You can shoot the chest and back armor of a Fleshpound to expose its critical zones.
- Fleshpounds are enraged with every damage you do to them.
- Destroying the armor ends the Fleshpound’s enrage.
- Hitting the neck of the Siren with any attack will cancel its scream.
- Husks leave flames on the floor with some of their attacks. Reposition more frequently when fighting them.
- Husks on top of rooftops who shoot you from above will come down to your level eventually.
- If you are a little behind your main mission objective, you can leave one Zed alive during the wave and finish your objectives.
- Adding mods to weapons increases their cost, but upgrading the mods doesn’t.
- Dismembered enemies sometimes live and crawl on the floor. They can still spit at you or scratch you for damage.
Apart from these general tips, there’s still so much to learn in Killing Floor 3. There are perk skills, builds, loadouts, best weapon mods, map strategies, team compositions, and everything else in between.
These tips should help you get over the hump if you are having trouble playing this fast-paced zombie horde game.
