Super Mario Odyssey has been on Nintendo fan’s radars since Nintendo first announced it back when they revealed the Nintendo Switch. Now, the latest Mario adventure finally has more details, including a release date and a brand-new trailer for fans to drool over. According to the latest trailer from Nintendo—which they showcased during their E3 Direct—fans will be able to embark on Mario’s newest adventure this fall, with a Super Mario Odyssey release date set for October 27.

The new trailer showcases quite a bit about the upcoming Mario game, including some in-depth looks at how Mario’s newest ally “Cappy” will allow Mario to “possess” enemies and even humans. The trailer also showcased quite a few different locations, as players will travel the globe in Super Mario Odyssey, as they try to catch Bowser and stop his plans to marry Princess Peach.

Nintendo also showcased around 30 minutes of gameplay from Super Mario Odyssey, in which fans were given a glimpse of the sandbox-like world that Mario will explore during his quest to save Peach from Bowser’s clutches. The world includes Mario’s take on iconic places like New York City, and other popular places in throughout the world.

One of the most important things for fans to take note of is the way that Cappy allows Mario to transform into other things, including things like taxi cabs, electrical currents, and even a life-size T-Rex. The game definitely appears to take a lot of inspiration from Super Mario 64, which also featured a large open-world environment for fans to explore and adventure through.

Super Mario Odyssey will arrive on Nintendo Switch this October 27, and fans can go ahead and preorder the game by heading over to the Nintendo website.
