How to Earn the Dastardly Secret Achievement in Red Dead Redemption

All that's missing is a dark cloak and a mustache to twirl as the train comes by.

There are a lot of Achievements to rack up in Red Dead Redemption, but one of the most oddly satisfying is the Dastardly Secret, where you channel your evil side and watch hapless villain gets run over by a speeding train. It’s something straight out of the old-time movies – but certainly a lot bloodier than you remember.

Here are some Red Dead Redemption tips that will help you earn this Achievement with ease. Just make sure you don’t get any blood on your boots.

First off, you need to find a victim. It never hurts to track down someone who gets your last nerve at the bar, but any citizen will do. Go ahead and use the lasso to grab them, and then hogtie this person to make sure they don’t get away.

Next, find your horse and tie your victim, then drag them out to the train tracks. Now, you may have a little time to kill before the train passes in Red Dead Redemption – it moves in real-time and has a lot of ground to cover. However, that should give you plenty of seconds to complete this next step.

Take your victim and drop them down onto the railroad tracks. They’ll try to break free, but assuming you hog-tied them correctly, they’ll be unable to escape. Eventually the train will come along. Get out of the way and watch it collide with your victim, turning them into a blood-splattered mess.

As a result, you’ll earn the Achievement, although you’ll have to live with that person’s death on your conscience. Hey, that’s the Old West for you.
