In this article we cover Chapter 9: Those Who Prove Worthy in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. During this chapter you encounter the three crosses puzzle, which is where some players may have difficulty. As the chapter begins, head through the cave looking around to find treasure throughout. Pay close attention to the small alcove before you reach the first bridge to find some especially elusive treasure.
Head across the bridge and continue through the area until a door closes behind you. This is how the puzzle begins. Pull the skeleton from the door and move over to the base of the device. Pick up the bucket and head over to the nearby pool to fill it with water. Give the bucket to Sam to initiate the puzzle.
At this point you need to turn four wheels in a very specific way. You need to align the bucket of water with the top beam of light to continue onward. The large cross must be lined up with the beam of light in the middle, and the white cross should line up with the light on the left. Finally, the black cross needs to line up with the light on the right.
Match up the wheels so your puzzle looks like the picture above, then access the door controls to the left of the puzzle. Continue through the newly opened door and keep moving through the cave until you come to a point in which you’re eavesdropping on a conversation. When you reach the puzzle that’s fallen into the ocean, have Nathan jump on the see-saw, then wait for Sam to jump on it as well and move across the beam to the rocks on the right.
Keep moving to the right, using the grappling hook to swing over to the gears on the wall. Climb to the top of the cliff and push the cart onto the beam so you and Sam can cross. Eventually you’ll come to a portion of the chapter in which you need to engage in a battle with some hostile forces. Take cover and try to score as many head shots as you can to make this portion of the chapter a bit easier. You can also shoot the red barrels to engulf any nearby enemies in flame. Make it to Sully’s place to watch a cut scene that concludes the chapter.
