After a portal to the Era of the Great Sea suddenly opened, the King of Red Lions himself came through to aid the legendary hero in his cause. King Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule is an ancient land’s final king, and is fated to watch his home fade into legend under the Great Sea. During Toon Link’s adventure, King Daphnes helped while maintaining the guise of a red boat. Harking back to his time as that red boat, King Daphnes purges evil from this world with a powerful sail, and he even changes back into a boat during certain attacks.
Where to Find Him
King Daphnes becomes available after you complete The Wind Waker: Reclaiming the Darkness.
King Daphnes’s Weapons
Sail
King Daphnes swings his sturdy Sail in wide, sweeping arcs, knocking all foes before him for a loop. Normally, his Regular Attack combo feels sluggish; press the Combo Attack button, however, and you’ll summon the wind’s blessing and increase King Daphnes’s attack speed. The effect is temporary, but also quite noticeable. Use it often to keep the King clobbering in top gear!
When it comes to his combos, King Daphnes has some pretty neat tricks. His Special Attack and Regular-Regular-Regular-Regular-Regular-Combo Attack transform him into the King of Red Lions and send him crashing into frontal foes with huge impact. Set up these powerful boat attacks to devastate even the toughest enemy groups.
