There are some signs in the game coupled with tweets from leakers that make it seem likely that a “time corruption” event will occur in Fortnite which will take players to the past. It seems that the vampire Kado Thorne is also a time traveler now, and you can visit his vault without a keycard to see his time machine contraption.

In-game, you can already spot elements from Chapter 1 Season 5, like a billboard in Mega City known as the “Eclipse Screen Logo” displaying the identical lighting design used in Chapter 1. Moreover, a loading screen showcases Kado Thorne unveiling the time machine set to travel to the 2018 launch date of Chapter 1 Season 5. Additional proof of the time-traveling motif can be observed in Frenzy Fields, where props from Chapter 1 can be seen to have spawned, like the legendary Durr Burger.

According to Egyptian Fortnite Leaker and Wenso on Twitter, this “anomaly” will cause the maps from Chapter 1 to return and the early seasons will repeat. Wenso explained further that time will be running faster during this event. That means we could see more than just one map; instead, we could go through four or five different maps throughout the whole “time corruption” event. If true, this would be a welcome surprise for those who’ve been playing Fortnite since those early days.
