How To Unlock Shin Bison in Street Fighter 6

or SiRN, you nerd!

Shin Bison, also known as SiRN Bison, is a boss battle in the new ‘Take Down the Giant Bison’ event in Street Fighter 6, accessible in the Battle Hub. However, similar to Shin Akuma, Shin Bison can actually be activated during a match as well. Whether your opponent will allow you to do that is another story, but it’s still one of the coolest secrets that CAPCOM has added to Street Fighter 6.

Unlock Shin Bison in Street Fighter 6

To unlock Shin Bison during a match, players need to place a Psycho Mine in their opponent and perform a forward taunt before it is detonated.

We’ll walk you through an example below:

  • First, perform the “Backfist Combo” to place the Psycho Mine
  • Once the Psycho Mine is placed, press Forward + Taunt.
  • The default bind for Taunt in Street Fighter 6 is to press all punches (Light, Medium, Heavy) and kicks (Light, Medium, Heavy) together. You can also bind the Taunt to a different button, but this is the required input for the special Shin Bison taunt:
Forward + KKKPPP
  • Bison will count down from three, detonate the mine, and gain access to the Shin Bison moves.

Shin Bison Special Moves and Super Art

Once activated, Shin Bison will gain access to three new special moves, as well as a new level 2 Super Art. Here is how you can perform these specials:

Shin Bison Special MoveInput
Forward Bison WarpForward + PPP (All three punches together) /
Forward + KKK (All three kicks together)
Backward Bison WarpBackward + PPP (All three punches together) /
Backward + KKK (All three kicks together)
Psycho Burst623 (DP/Shoryuken) + PP (Any two punches)
Final Psycho CrusherDouble Quarter Circle Backward (214214) + P (Any Punch)

These are the same specials the SiRN boss performs and most of these are callbacks to his kit from his previous appearances including Street Fighter V.

Much like Shin Akuma though, actually activating this form during a competitive match will not happen. It’s simply too easy to punish, and most players won’t waste a second to interrupt the taunt. The taunt animation itself is way shorter than Shin Akuma’s but it’s still not fast enough to be viable during a regular match.

This is something that’s purely added for players to have fun with, and a lot of effort went into making each special attack look flashy, authentic, and viable for combos as well. This isn’t the only new content M. Bison has received with this event, however, because you can also unlock the new EX 01 and 02 colors for his iconic Outfit 2.
