How Does the Inventory System Work in Stalker 2 Heart of Chornobyl

Any item you come across in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl carries a weight, which you can check in the inventory by moving your cursor over it. As you pick up more items, the overall weight of your inventory will increase, as shown at the bottom right of the inventory menu. You will see a colored bar and the maximum weight you can carry, which is 80 kilograms at the start.

The sweet spot for the weight bar is the green zone, where you should always keep your overall weight. If your weight is in the yellow zone on the bar, then your character will consume more stamina and move slower.

Once you hit the maximum weight limit, your character will not be able to move until you throw away some items from the inventory. However, there are some ways you can increase your inventory space.

How to Carry More Items in Stalker 2 Heart of Chornobyl

Although the game is not very lenient with inventory management, there are some ways you can increase your inventory space and carry more items. These are:

Artifacts

There are several types of Artifacts you can get from anomalies that help increase the carry weight limit but at the expense of radiation protection. Four Artifacts that help to boost carry weight are:

  • Flytrap
  • Goldfish
  • Sprint
  • Stone Blood

Sprint and Flytrap will give you the highest boost in carry weight limit, but these items will also emit more radiation. You can find these Artifacts around the anomalies in the Zone.

Hercules Consumable

Hercules is a consumable that temporarily increases your carry weight limit by 20kg for 10 minutes. If you are in an area with a lot of high-quality loot that you cannot leave behind, then that is the right time to take this pill and try to make it back to base before the times runs out.

You can find the Hercules consumable in the crates or basically anywhere among common loot. It is not a hard item to come across, so don’t be hesitant to consume them.

Upgrading Armor and Gear

You can talk to a Technician and upgrade your armor to increase the carry weight limit. These upgrades usually increase the carry limit by 10% and will help you carry more items. Along with the armor, you can upgrade weapons and other gears to lower their weight by some percentage.

There are multiple technicians in the major settlements that will provide upgrades of their own, so make sure you visit all of them to find the best upgrades to increase the carry weight limit for your armor and lower the weight of the gear.

Stalker Suits

Some Stalker Suits like Wanderer’s Suit, Cuirass Exoskeleton, and OZK Explorer’s Suit will give you an increase in carry weight limit among other passive attributes. You can find the Stalker Suits in stashes or as a ground loot.

These are all the ways you can increase your weight limit or inventory space in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. If you are roaming areas that are pitch black, then take a look at our guide on how to turn on your flashlight in the game.
