How to Increase Imagination in Metaphor ReFantazio

If only we can imagine to max out the other virtues too.

Imagination is one of five Royal Virtues in Metaphor: ReFantazio. Increasing your Imagination is way simpler than other Royal Virtues, but there are more time constraints to it than the others as well. You want to learn about every method to increase your Imagination so you don’t miss out on crucial points that will lead you to maximize it sooner rather than later. Here’s how to increase and max out your Imagination in Metaphor: ReFantazio.

Listening to stories from the townsfolk

Three stories in particular raise your Imagination every time you interact with certain NPCs. The first one is from the Chatty Elder in Sunlumeo Street in Grand Trad. The second is from the Nostalgic Elder in Thoroughfare Way in Martira. The last one is from the Sanctor in Brilehaven. As you notice a trend, these are from each of the major areas you encounter throughout the story, and you can listen to each NPC multiple times to increase your Imagination even more. However, you do want to improve on Wisdom or other Royal Virtues to spread your character out.

Several side quests

The Foreword and Prologue quest increases your Imagination, and you can get it from More in the Akademia: Novelist’s Study. However, it does need you to raise a Healer Archetype to rank 10, which may take a while. You’ll even get more quests that could raise your virtues from More in the future.

You can also increase your Imagination through more adventurous side quests like the Save the Mourning Sakes quest.

Reading books

When you start traveling with your Gauntlet Runner, you’ll still have ways to increase your Royal Virtues. Since you’ll spend most of your time traveling, it makes sense to add more ways to increase your Imagination outside of the major towns or areas.

Initially, there’s a free book called the “New World Travel Diary” on the bookshelf in your Gauntlet Runner. You can read it to increase your Imagination until you actually finish the book. Later in the story, you can also get another book called “Literacy Workbook” that increases your Imagination.

Interactions with other party members

Once you are in the Gauntlet Runner traveling, you’ll occasionally see your party members with an icon on the top of their heads. This means they have some time to spare, and you can interact with them. After spending some time with them, you’ll also gain Royal Virtues and strengthen your bond or relationship with the specific party member.

After beating Spektos and Zorba, you’ll start traveling with your Gauntlet Runner. The first interactions with Hulkenberg while traveling will be recalling the past and planning for the future with either Strohl or Hulkenberg. However, this is done during the nighttime right before the day ends.

There are occasions when you have the ability to increase your Imagination in different ways. I suggest prioritizing interactions with your party members rather than reading books so you can also increase your bond while gaining Imagination points.
