As powerful as the Chainsaw is in Silent Hill 2 Remake, the only way to obtain it is after beating the game at least once. After completing the game, the first step is to start the ‘New Game+’ Game Mode.

After that, continue playing the early section of the game, which is mostly covered in mysterious mist until you reach Angela. Next, you will need to follow the path that eventually leads you to the Lumberyard area near the ‘Silent Hill Ranch’ location.

Once you are there, look to your right, where a couple of logs are piled over each other. You will find the Chainsaw weapon embedded in a log there.

Besides obtaining the Chainsaw for the first time, you will also unlock the “Lumberjack” trophy in Silent Hill 2 Remake.
